A Yorkie can be very small, usually weighing not more than 7 pounds. Yorkies have beautiful, round, deep-brown eyes that can melt your heart. They are a young breed that was developed in North England and which quickly became a popular pet, especially for women because they could fit the dogs in their purses. A Yorkie puppy tends to be fun loving with an outgoing nature.

Yorkies are very small in size and sometimes the fast movements of small children or lots of commotion can make them nervous.

Yorkie puppies sometimes try to attack much larger dogs despite their extreme size disadvantage but usually Yorkie puppies get along well with cats or other dogs, and love to play together in groups.

When you begin your Yorkie Training remember that your Yorkie loves to be praised. Yorkies tend to be energetic and love lots of attention. So, if there are too many people or animals around, your dog will think it is play time and probably won’t listen to your commands.
